My exploration of colour using natural sources
To further my sustainable attitude towards textiles and embroidery I have explored natural dyeing onto fabric and threads but additionally incorporated the fundamentals of natural dyeing alongside biomaterials. I have trialled a wealth of ‘ingredients’ within my journey to create and complete a colour wheel, from madder red to spirulina green! This methodical way of working is interesting to me, testing out quantities, documenting and explaining processes for myself but also for others to use as a pathway into natural dyeing. The process allows me explore natural colour possibilities/recipes and to share them amongst others.
