This project looks at the delicate details of Spring. As someone who enjoys hand embroidery, I tune into the small fragments and elements that others may discard.

 

Due to lockdown the only form of socialising that was acceptable was “going on daily walks” – something that many participated in as a way to ‘escape’ which consisted of visiting my local parks, this inspired my embellishment imagery (nature and the outside world, beyond our computer screens). Additionally, I wanted to focus on the use of upcycling along with themes surrounding gender neutrality, mindfulness activities, and the importance of handcrafted.
